WORKING PARENTS – ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR 30 HOURS FUNDING?

  • How do parents secure their place?

If a parent is approved for the additional 15 hours extended funding they will receive an 11 digit ‘eligibility code’ for their child.  The code will start with ‘5000’, however a small number of cases may have a temporary code starting with ‘11’.  Parents should bring this code to the School Office in order for the funding to be claimed.  We will need to record your eligibility code, National Insurance number and the child’s date of birth.  Parent must show evidence of their National Insurance number and child’s date of birth prior to a check being undertaken.  Parents will also need to sign the attached permission in order for us to check their eligibility.

  • Do you meet the following criteria?:-
    • Your child will be aged 3 or 4 when the scheme starts in your area.
    • Both parents must be working - or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family
    • Each parent earns, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage
    • Each parent must have an annual income of less than £100,000
    • You live in England
  • How do parents apply?

Parents can check whether they could be eligible for a range of government childcare offers, including 30 hours, via Childcare Choices at: https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk or the Childcare Calculator at: https://www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator. Those who could be eligible for 30 hours and/or Tax-Free Childcare will be directed to the digital childcare service to apply.  If parents do not have the facility to apply on-line they should contact the Customer Interaction Centre on 0300 123 4097.

Parents must apply termly in advance, the deadline date for September term is 31st August.
